Position Details: Software Tester (NC-110116)

Description:

iCore is hiring a Software Tester with over 3 years experience for placement with our direct end client. The selected candidate will be responsible for verifying and validating software products or services to assure that they meet the client’s specified requirements. The individual should have knowledge of all phases of the SDLC. The Software Tester will review requirements, ensure traceability of test cases to requirements, execute test scripts and account for validating system quality. This individual must be able to communicate effectively in oral and written form and establish and maintain a good working relationship within and outside QC and Testing teams. This position must interact with analysts, software engineers and management.

General Requirements:
The candidate must be a US Citizen, Green Card holder or have Employment Authorization and have over three (3) years of progressive software testing/quality control experience working with large-scale web based project(s). Candidate must also have 2 years of automated testing experience using Selenium RC or Selenium Web Driver and SOAP UI.

• Ability to understand the technical details of the project/application/system
• Ability to develop, publish, and execute test plans and test scripts for applications throughout the project life cycle.
• Experience creating, executing, and automating scripts for smoke, functional, and regression tests using Selenium
• Experience creating, executing, and automating SOAP UI scripts.
• Ability to develop test data where needed.
• Experience preparing and executing SQL commands to manage and verify data.
• Experience designing, maintaining, and executing retests of test cases.

Required Skills:

• Proficient understanding of various Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
• Experience with participation through all phases of the SDLC on a new project.
• Hands on experience with Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Experience working with various testing tools such as Selenium, SOAP UI, and ClearQuest.
• Experience with creation and maintenance of Test Scripts.
• Experience with creation and maintenance of Automated Scripts.
• Experience with creation and maintenance of a Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).
• Experience in all types of Testing (manual, usability, functional, black box, white box, regression, smoke, performance, stress, load (aka scalability), persistent layer verification, data creation, web services (SOAPUI)).
• Experience with relational database (such as DB2, Oracle, SQL server, etc.).
• Experience with data model, SQL and writing SQL queries.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong English communication skills.

On Call:  Contractor may be subject to being placed “on call” for work to be done during non-business hours.  This time will be counted as part of the 40 hours per week and schedule adjustments will be made to ensure the contractor does not exceed 40 hours weekly.  On call rotation may be up to one week monthly.
